Orange Beach to host boat show this weekend
Pensacola no longer has a boat show, but if you’re itching to get out and see the latest and greatest in boats you’ll have your chance this weekend March 28-30.
The Wharf Boat and Yacht Show will be held in Orange Beach which is just a quick trip away from Pensacola. The show will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, then from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Show organizers expect over $90 million in boats and marine products on display this year. “We’ve got more than 125 boats in the water and we’re getting close to 250 boats on land of the hottest new boat lines, the best dealers and the top brands. There’s a little bit for everyone, nowhere else can you go and see the wide variety of top brands in the country, and they’re going to be on display here.” said Chris Miller, operations manager of The Wharf Boat and Yacht Show.
Displays from Viking, Ranger, Contender, Jupiter, Blazer Bay, Everglades, Yellowfin, Edgewater, Tiara, Cape Horn and more big names in the boating world will be showcased, and prospective buyers are welcome to test-drive the boat of their dreams. In addition to all of the boats there will be over seventy five exhibiting companies on site with a wide variety of items to check out.
Though the show will consist of mostly marine industry, it will also feature unique apparel companies, artists, stand up paddle boards and other water sports, ATV”s, high end custom golf carts and wave runners, engines, fishing equipment, fishing charters, the hottest marine electronics, fishing tackle and outdoor equipment.
Fishing seminars will be held each of the three days by Hot Spots Charters captains of Pensacola Fishing Charters. Friday at 2:30 p.m. will be king mackerel fishing, Saturday at 12 p.m. will be bottom fishing, Saturday at 2 p.m. will be offshore trolling, and Sunday at 12 p.m. will be inshore fishing.
In addition to the boat show The Wharf Entertainment Complex is a perfect destination that’s both family-friendly and also packed with things to do for everyone, including restaurants, nightlife, fishing, shopping and even the largest Ferris wheel in the Southeast.
Admission to The Wharf Boat & Yacht Show is only $7, children under 12 are admitted free, and there is no charge for parking.
