Inshore – Fishing Charters

It can get tough this time of year with the hot weather, but the redfish and speckled trout reports from the last few days have been great. You can probably find some steady action on the grass flats early in the morning with artificial lures, but once the sun gets up you’ll want to move to deeper water or fish structure for the specks.

Spanish mackerel, ladyfish, bluefish, and hardtails can be found up and down the beaches out in the Gulf. They are super easy to catch, just troll along using speck rigs, Gotcha Lures, or mackerel trees.

Offshore – Pensacola Fishing Charters

It looks like the weather is going to be super nice for getting offshore this weekend. Reports have been few and far between because of so much rough weather, but now’s the time to head out to the Nipple or Spur in search of wahoo, dolphin, and billfish.

If you’re looking to do some bottom fishing red snapper is currently open in state waters and gag grouper is open in state and federal. The vermillion snapper and scamp fishing has been decent as well.

The king mackerel bite on the shallow water wrecks has been hit or miss, but if you’re looking for something to do its worth giving a try. The sea buoy and USS Massachusetts is a good place to start, just get some mackerel dusters and troll around with cigar minnows.

Piers & Beaches – Charter Fishing

The Pensacola Beach Gulf Fishing Pier or Navarre Beach Fishing Pier are definitely your best bet if you’re landlocked and looking for action right now. King mackerel, Spanish mackerel, ladyfish, hardtails, and jack crevalle are likely catches on the pier this time of year.

Freshwater – Inshore Fishing Charters

It sounds like the bass and bream fishing on the local rivers has been pretty good considering the hot weather and amount of rain lately. You’ll likely find the best action early in the morning and want to stick to live crickets or worms if you’re targeting bream.
